So, I have an Idea:
For anyone that doesn't have any plans for New-year's eve, we could get together and work together at this.
My place, my PS2 and the seat with steering wheel.
We can make it a pot luck. I live in Centennial.

Who's up for it?

To encourage people to post even slow times, perhaps all the times should be privately e-mailed and compiled only to be disclosed upon even completion.

Whatcha think?

that's a good idea. rmvirtual at ultrametrics dot net.

ahhh ... Cote d'Azure is my least favorite course ...

Chris, I think you used the wrong Subaru.
It probably should be the '99 (not '01 prototype).

o Mini Cooper S - 2:03.311
(pretty fun ... probably should have turned TCS on)

o BMW M3 E46 - 1:49.775
(that car sure felt sloppy.)

o Subaru Impreza Rally Car (99) - 1:43.547
(Hard Racing tires were the default)

o ASL ARTA Garaiya - 1:38.146
(JGTC car, hard racing tires. Never got a real good lap in.)

I don't think Evan will be racing ... he went back to Ft. Collins and the X Box is HERE!

On edit .. I starting to like this course a bit more.
I don't like LOSING on it to Al and Chris (!), but I can see it is a driver's course.

Quite a bit of variety in those cars, Patrick ... nice choices.

Same here. I can never really get into the sort of rhythm it takes to really push a car hard on Cote d'Azure. After trying and failing to get semi quick times without crashing in both the Mini and M3, I decided racing that track just isn't fun for me. If there is a virtual event #3, may I suggest a track like El Capitan or Costa di Amalfi because I just love their flowing curves and elevation changes.

I can say the opposite:
I love Cote D'azur, but hated Laguna seca.
As far as the cars, The subaru I drove is the same as Chris, but will try with the '99 and see.
The ASL, is confusing as booth the street and race cars have the same name. I did it with both and have almost 14 sec. difference.

I am looking forward to event #3 too.

I will post my times as soon as I complete the laps on the '99 Sub.

Here we go!

-Mini Cooper S : 1'59:464
-BMW M3 E-46 : 1'47:815
-Subaru Impreza Rally Prototype: 1'39:021
-Subaru Imp. Rally '99 : 1'41:019
-ASL Arta Garaiya Street car: 1'49:347
-ASL Arta Garaiya Race car : 1'35:462

I do like this track and enjoyed driving all the cars. The trick on this track is to make sure and nail the braking, make the car Rotate and of course, stay away from the barriers (Just barely).

Evan, I know you will crush my times, but some day...

Dang, Al!

I would feel pretty safe with those times.
My goodness ... you sure you ran default tires? ;)

I'd vote for Infineon or Suzuka next time.

alby426

Yes Paul the cars were driven as default.

I will go for Infineon, that is a very fun course.
Suzuka is more challenging though.

By the way, I just switched from the Logiteck force steering wheel to the Force pro with 900 deg. It makes a difference!

Oh well. Here's mine...

o BMW M3 E46 - 1:51.295
o '99 Subaru Impreza Rally Car - 1:45.230

Alright, here are my times.

Mini 2.00.575
M3 1.47.743
01 STI rally car (don't have the 99) 1.40.598
ASL (JGTC) 1.35.581

Every single lap in all cars I nailed a wall somewhere though.

I vote suzuka next time.

Edit:
99 STI Rally car 1.40.731

I did have it :o

I guess I suck at driving German cars.

Mini 2:07.177

BMW M3 1:53.799

Subaru WRC '03 1:43.016

ASL (JGTC) 1:36.684

I suggest that next event, we use the F-1 car so we don't exclude the cart guys on the board :D
Sears Point in the non-nascar configuration is a fun track with some real nice rythm sections.
Special Stage 5 is a tough one as well. Not my favorite, but it is a driver's course.

same as before, no assists, default tires, manual gearbox

Mini Cooper S '02 2'01.075
BMW M3 '04 1'49.405
Subaru Impreza Rally Car '99 1'41.563
ASL ARTA Garaiya (JGTC) '03 1'36.874

The mini was fun but slow. I felt it rotate better on the hairpins. The BMW was hard when nailing the braking, brakes sucked and was impossible to brake through the turn. The Impreza had a lot of potential it was just a matter of finding it. The ASL was fast and made you work to get that extra tenth of a second.

I still suck with the German cars, but:

'02 Mini 2'07.177

'04 M3 1'51.109

'03 Subaru WRC 1'40.954

'03 ASL (JGTC) 1'36.684

And just for fun,
'04 Formula Gran Turismo 1'20.783
This car wass a handfull to say the least. I really need my wheel to drive this car properly. Acceleration was nice though.:D

Take the slowest listed times, add about 5 seconds to each car and you have my times. I'm slowly starting to hate this game now. Thanks rmsolo forums!

I suck at video games.

Ok so I thought I would have some fun and see if i could beat Cory's and Al's time with the impreza and the ASL. This was ment to make me feel better about my skills. Well after driving a few laps I thought this could also serve to humble Cory and Al, yeah, and make us normal people feel better... right? Well after 19 laps in the impreza I finally beat Cory and Al.

'99 Subaru Impreza Rally Car 1'40.454

Yeah around 3 tenths of a second better then Cory's best time and 6 tenths better then Al. HA I did it I beat them. Well then I tried the ASL. I figured It would turn out like the Subaru. Everything Would come together on a lap and I would beat them again. Around lap 20 I started thinking this is turning out to be more like...showing how fast these two guys are. That they were able to get these times in just 6 laps. I no longer was doing this to humble them but to show everyone these guys are FAST!!

So on lap 30 I quit. I couldn't beat them in the ASL. Either I would hit a wall or go wide on one turn. I couldn't do that one perfect lap.

'03 ASL ARTA Garaiya 1'36.026

These are no way intented to replace my other times. These were fun runs after the event.

Jesse, I'm honestly glad you beat my time. I'm pretty good at that game because I play WAY too much of it for my own good.

I was waiting for mark to try his hand at this, because he always beats my times by a second or so.
