Does anyone on list do "shade tree" powder coating, like the Eastwood systems?

I have been thinking of powder coating my kitchen gas stove grates and splash pans. I would like to do a flat(ish) black finish. They are gray now, and never seem to remain clean.

Anyone know if this would be a problem or does powder coating, let me know.
Thanks,Tom

I have become very successful at home shop powder coating through much practice and MANY mistakes. In fact, I am thinking of teaching a class on home powder coating. I have three harbor freight guns and a caswell gun. All hobby guns. Is anyone having challanges with it that would be interested in a class? PM me.

Gas ovens and stoves will ignite the fumes from curing powder which happen to be toxic and you DO NOT want them in your home or near your food.

Powder coating will not withstand the heat of an open flame and is not recommended for food prep at all. Normal powder is good to about 500f and high temp powder is good to about 1000f.

Maybe you could season the pieces by baking them in olive or peanut oil like you would season a cast iron pan?

I would think that you are not the first with this complaint and maybe can find a solution on one of the cooking forums.

You may consider plating or jet hot coating as an alternative to powder coating.
