Mods feel free to move this if I posted in the wrong forum.

I was just wondering if any of our contingent here can help us out with regards of where to get our car painted for the best price. Please don't say Maaco unless you personally have a success story.

I just got quoted a price from one shop that was more than what we paid for the car!

We may be willing to do the prep ourselves if it comes down to it.

We're not looking for show room quality although we don't want the paint peeling in 6 months either. And just looking to go with original color although a new color scheme has been bouncing around in our heads (thanks to all the generic-racing guys).

Anyways, feel free to post or email me with any leads.

Thanks,
Van

BTW, not looking to go pink! ;)

I know a number of road racers (and others) that have used maaco with success. The two key issues, as I understand it, are the prep and the paint used. If you do all the prep, and bring your own paint, a maaco paint job can probably come out pretty good...

No 1st hand experience though, just know a few folks that have gone that route...

I don't know if you remember by brother's white '98 Prelude, Van, but he got almost his entire car repainted at Maaco and it looks great. They even put the pearlescent clear coat on it and it looks better than the Honda pearlescent clear coat.

I had one of my previous cars repainted by Maaco and it came out really nice, but that was back in Philadelphia. It cost about 2K for the whole thing, but was totally worth it when you see it shine in the summer.

Oh..did I forget something

Good work, great prices. Steve Soderman 303-781-0945.
Tell him Todd Shusterman sent you.
I was hit in the RSX before the TT national event last year and Steve made the dents disappear and blended the metallic paint perfectly. My father-in-law had some work done after seeing how well he fixed my problem.
