Does anybody have any leads on a (used) (cheaper) Briggs & Stratton Raptor engine? Savannah's gave out in a big way while she was practicing at Action Karting today. She doesn't want to give up on the season just yet.

Thanks

You can try George at CRE Motorsports and see what he has or Knows of laying around.

You may also try JR Race Car Engineering up in Fort Collins (I think...). They are a NHRA Jr. Dragster shop, but they start with Raptor engines (and end up with really crazy things - it's amazing how much power a Briggs motor can make when it only has to run 8 seconds at a time...)

Best of luck getting Savannah running again! I would say she could drive Laurel's kart, but we tried that once, and I don't think Savannah has shrunk 5 years worth yet...

You could also post over at thecoloradokarter.com site.
Somebody there may have an engine they're looking to sell.

Sorry to hear about the blow up.

Neil, you're welcome to run Keaton's kart, but it'll need some tuning between now and then. If you want it, you can pick it up this week and play with it.

Thank you all for your suggestions and generous offers. An engine was found at Action Karting, thanks JB. Sunday I was told they would have to order parts, but I didn't ask about a replacement. Year Round Equipment Co. says that the only authorized Raptor dealers in town are IMI and Action, or get the parts online. Fortunately JB was not too bad on his price. The transplant appears to be a success. Thanks again to all and especially Clay, your karma will be great on sunday.
