I was reading an article on the new Bugati (sp) and I had a idea. With the aray of gauges availible for aftermarket guys. Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, boost, vac, Volts, amps, egt, temp, etc etc etc... this Bugati has a Horsepower gauge. has anyone heard of an after HP gauge??? that would be fun....

To add to my thought. A old school dyno uses a hydolic pump psi spun by the engine or wheels to calculate the the HP based on a fourmula but wouldn't the ECU have all the information in it already?

You can use a g-tech or similar device to display HP and TQ.
The g-tech calculates HP from velocity, acceleration and vehicle weight (a parameter provided by the user). By detecting engine rpms (through electrical variations in the power source, I believe), the g-tech can also calculate and display torque in real-time.

First off you need a chip in the ECu to have it calculate the HP from you car. If you want to figure out your HP here is the formula:
Horsepower = Torque * RPM * 2 * Pi / 33,000
With a chip install that can do the calculation it will figure out the HP. Then you would need a gauge to have it read off this data. I'm not sure if there is a current gauge you can buy, but with some searching you might be able to find one.
Or just get a G-Tech.
