One of the issues that Dan and I had over the last season was having dedicated course set up workers. We appreciate when people volunteer to help, but its nice when we have the same people every event. This helps with several things, mainly protocol and how to do things the right way. We don't mind training people on the fly, but it would be nice to know that everyone working course setup...has done it before and doesn't have any questions.
So, I'm asking that whomever would like to be a part of our Setup Crew for the DIA events. Please respond to me here or offlist. I would like to have a stable number of workers for each event, which would be around 10. (not including myself). The same people would be the best. I'll make up a schedule, and make this list available to chief of workers(to help the chief out). Please let me know what events you can not attend, so I can arrange a replacement for that morning.
Training: I would like to get all the "setup" workers together one afternoon/evening before the season starts(yes I'll provide beer!!), to go over protocol and what needs to be done. This will include all the responsibilities of the setup crew. Perhaps dedicated people to do a specific task, like marking grid for example.
I'm hoping this initiative will make our course setup procedure more efficient and timely, so we can open the course for walking as soon as possible.
Thanks for your time
