At Randy's suggestion, I'm re-posting this post from the "Announce" forum in the Street Survival Forum, for those folks who may look to this forum for infomation about Street Survival in the future . . .

I received an e-mail from the Street Survival National Office, containing the following letter:

"Dear Bill,

We would like to share with you the impact that Street Survival has had on our family by helping to save the life of our son, Gregory.

During the summer of 2011 Greg attended the session at Pikes Peak Speedway in Colorado Springs, Co. Little did we know that just seven months later in January 2011 the skills that Greg learned would play a part in saving his life as well as another's life. As Greg was driving home from school on Hwy. 66 in Longmont, Colorado another car driven by a new driver pulled out in front of Greg. The driver panicked and stopped when he realized he couldn't make it across the highway. Greg had mere seconds to react. While our faith implores us to mention we believe God had His hand over both drivers that day we know Greg's learned skills were crucial in his survival. He managed to maintain control of his Corolla during a panic stop at 60 mph. Rather than t-bone the other car Greg swerved just enough to graze the front of the other little car which was a Celica and avoid stopping in the oncoming traffic lanes. While both cars were totaled, the two drivers walked away. This is a true testament to the value of classroom and hands on experience. We can never thank all the volunteers that make this program a success. Greg will be back at the next opportunity with his replacement car. Please keep up the excellent work and know that we appreciate everyone's efforts to save lives across the nation. You are making a difference!

Sincerely,

Eric & Stephanie Schmisseur
Longmont, CO."

While I love the story, and will share it with others... I noticed that the class must have been in 2010, not 2011 ;)
