I've run four events now, and I am dying to get in more seat time. I don't see any schools on the RMSOLO schedule, but I'm willing to drive for a ways to get to one. I don't see any on the SCCA site, either. There's a link to "Safeisfast" on the "Events" page, but it's such a junky website that I can't tell what it is. (http://safeisfast.com/) Anybody know what that is?

I can see driving a bit to get to a driving school, if I can find one. Just interested in auto-x for now. Cones are just not that frightened of me yet...

I swore that the next RMSOLO event was going to be on the 15th, and made plans with my girlfriend... I might have to do some serious groveling to make it this weekend. She's been pretty supportive so far, but I haven't asked to reneg on established plans. Hate to miss the opportunity to get some wheel time in. Now, where did I put those kneepads...?

Bring her along and have her drive/ride! We are family friendly! Tell her it's "Ladies Day" at the track.

Glad you're having fun!

Colorado region will have several events to add to the winter schedule. Plan on making those for more seat time. There are plenty of experienced drivers that will be glad to ride along with you.

RMSolo will have a Solo school next summer series.

But if you can't wait until then, you need to define "within driving distance"-- you can find other nearby regions on SCCA.com and check out there calendars:

http://www.azsolo.com/ has a driver's school Dec 3 in Phoenix, with an event on Dec 4th. We went to that a few years ago and it was a great. The classroom session was the night before, so all day Saturday was practice. Plan a weekend in Phoenix with your girlfriend...

Yup. There will most certainly be a SpeedTrain school scheduled for next year. We're still patting out the lumps in our 2012 schedule, but it's getting close! And Novice-friendly schools are certainly a priority for us! We're also working out some kind of an advanced school, be it FastForward, or EVO, or whatever. Stay tuned for more details!

The evo school mentions is a good resource. And I guess defining driving distance is important, I drove my 240 here from Texas. I'd say the events in the link on January 7th and 8th are out, but the others might work depending on how much you want to push it.

Cory, I'm just a new guy here, but I got some really choice corner work assignments with good views of tough sections, and if your 240 is the one I'm thinking of, it is one of the better set up cars out there. I was very impressed.

See you at PPIR,

There have been a few other 240's out there, but no regulars so mine's probably the one you're thinking of. I've been told I drive pretty smoothly, so that's probably what you're seeing. It drives pretty well and it's pretty easy/fun to drive, but the setup need a little work and I know it can be faster (as can I). If you can, you're welcome to a ride along. Thanks for the compliment.

Its all about car setup, if you ask me. Cory's car is one of the most fun cars I've driven, and when the car works, you work... if that makes sense. Big +1 with taking a ride with Cory, if you can!
